The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) Head Start program is accepting center-based service provider proposals from qualified community agencies, educational institutions or other nonprofit entities with experience in providing comprehensive child development services.
The RFP is for a site location in Clay, Platte or Jackson counties in Missouri. Proposals should consider 30 slots for Head Start and 20 slots for Early Head Start. The contract will be from August 2024 through October 2025.
Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of MARC staff, at least one member of the MARC Head Start Advisory Committee, one member of the MARC Head Start Policy Council and local community experts in the fields of early childhood education and community service. Applications will be evaluated based on the respondent’s ability to operate a Head Start/Early Head Start program as defined in the RFP.
MARC Head Start’s mission is to advance young children’s development and learning through effective administration, community collaboration and family engagement. MARC Head Start provides early childhood programs to support the needs of low-income pregnant women, young children and families in urban, suburban and rural settings in Jackson, Clay and Platte counties in Missouri.
MARC Head Start and Early Head Start is administered through funding received from the federal Office of Head Start, within the Administration for Children and Families of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
